Book Sales

In-Person Book Sales

All Mississauga library branches have an area for gently used books and other items that are for sale. The librarian can help you locate the book sale area in your branch.

At the Hazel McCallion Central Library (HMCL), Friends of the Library (FOL) has a larger collection of books and other items for sale. Gently used books, textbooks, and DVDs are displayed on both sides of the two shelving units. The prices for the books can be found on the cover or on the top of the first page inside the book. You pay for items you want at the Customer Service Desk. Money raised from book sales is used to support library programs and services.

To locate the FOL book sale shelves at HMCL, enter the library through the Atrium, walk past the Customer Service Desk and turn right. The sale shelves are straight ahead just in front of the windows.

Special Atrium Book Sales

Approximately every other month, FOL runs a larger sale of books on a Saturday in the Atrium of the Hazel McCallion Central Library. Watch for announcements of upcoming Atrium Sales on FOL’s Facebook and Instagram sites a few weeks ahead of the sale.
